Once you have created your own wedding website, you can then email the website address to friends and family where they can follow your engagement story and the progress of your wedding plans.

Formal Announcement
Published announcements are normally made through the local newspapers and hometown publications of both bride and groom. You can check with your local newspaper for their requirements. They usually have a standardized form that is specifically for announcing a couple's wedding engagement.
This is used to be a free service offered by your local newspaper but I just recently discovered through a friend who just got engaged that this is not the case anymore. You can call your local newspaper office for more information on this matter. An engagement photo could be sent along with the form for publication purposes.
Engagement Party
Getting engaged is one great reason for a party! The parents or a close family usually hosts the engagement party. It can be a simple get together of close family and friends of both bride and groom or it could be as elaborate as your parent wishes.
